Hermon Dog Park is an off-leash park adjacent to the historic Arroyo Seco of Northeast Los Angeles. The dog park is supported by the Friends of Hermon Dog Park, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised entirely of volunteers and dependent on donations.
The park has two fenced areas, one for large dogs and one for small, elderly and disabled dogs. Facilities include a double-gated entrance, trees, benches, and water dispensers for the dogs. The surface is decomposed granite, for mud free, easy clean up. Biodegradable doggie waste bags are available in dispensers. Hermon Dog Park is open every day from dawn until dusk.

Dog Park Etiquette - Minding your Paws and Cues
During our April Yappy Hour, Friends of Hermon Dog Park presented a FREE Pet Ed seminar. Local dog trainer, Erica Lake, gave a fun and informative talk about the do's and don'ts of the dog park and a variety of socailization and behavioral topics. Topics included: how to socalize a new puppy, how to tell when your dog is stressed or aggressive, what to do when people don't pick up after their dog? Erica provided a "Rules to Live by"handout as well as a Q&A,session. We also had doggie fashions, door prizes and refreshments--what fun! Check out the photos on our FaceBook page.
Bring Your Mementos to our June Yappy Hour!
Local artist and dog lover, Jolino Beserra is creating "Hermon on the Ball", a large mosaic dog sculpture in the spirit of Oaxacan animal woodcarvings. The sculpture will be installed at Hermon Dog Park later this year. He will be including mementos from the community in memory/honor of our Hermon Dog Park pets. Items must be ceramic, metal or anything that won't deteriorate in the elements - dog tags (or cat), ceramic animals, a water dish (which will be broken into pieces) or anything that has meaning for you. Items cannot be returned but you will be able to immortallize your pet. Find out more about "Hermon on the Ball"
Amnesty for dog license late fees and penalties expired March 31, 2012. Los Angeles City Humane Officers will be canvassing L.A. City parks and neighborhoods, checking for current dog licenses. If you have a dog that is not yet licensed or who has a license that has expired, you can visit one of the six animal shelters near you, get a new license, or renew
online.
A license protects your dogs if they accidentally get out and get lost. License tags give you the peace of mind to know that Los Angeles Animal Services will be able to reunite you with your pet if turned in by a Good Samaritan or picked up by one of their officers. But it's not only a great safety net for your dog, it is the law.
License Fees: spayed or neutered: $20 and proof of rabies vaccination. Not spayed or neutered (if qualified): $100 plus breeder's fee of $235. https://anionlinelicense.lacity.org
