Hermon Dog Park is an off-leash park adjacent to the historic Arroyo Seco of Northeast Los Angeles. The dog park is supported by the Friends of Hermon Dog Park, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised entirely of volunteers and dependent on donations.
The park has two fenced areas, one for large dogs and one for small, elderly and disabled dogs. Facilities include a double-gated entrance, trees, benches, and water dispensers for the dogs. The surface is decomposed granite, for mud free, easy clean up. Biodegradable doggie waste bags are available in dispensers. Hermon Dog Park is open every day from dawn until dusk.

Take a Hike! March Yappy Hour - Sunday, March 31. Our March Yappy Hour featured a special hike with local dog trainer, Lezle Stein. This time we took the southbound route, crossing Via Marisol, and hiked up into Debs Park. There were great views and the dogs all enjoyed the rustic path. Those who went the distance got to see Peanut Lake - a few dogs went swimming. When everyone returned to the Friends of Hermon Dog Park booth, there were treats for the dogs and people too. The hike was a great opportunity to meet firends, get some exercise and to get some free tips from a pro. Check out the photos on Facebook, and make sure to see Martha Benedict's great photos too!!

The 68th Northeast Los Angeles Holiday Parade officially brought in the holiday season on Sunday, December 2, 2012. The Friends of Hermon Dog Park once again marched as the "Santa Paws Squad" with people and dogs dressed in holiday attire in the city's second oldest annual holiday parade along side marching bands, drill teams, dancers, musicians, floats, equestrian units, celebrities and community representatives. This year's theme was "People Helping People", and we had a lot of people helping us - all cheerfully carrying signs and banners through the less than perfect weather! Lucky participant Frank won our raffle prize of a $50 Petco gift card. Thanks to everyone who participated! You can check out Santa Paws Squad photos on our Facebook Page.

Bring Your Mementos to Yappy Hour!
Local artist and dog lover, Jolino Beserra is creating "Hermon on the Ball", a large mosaic dog sculpture in the spirit of Oaxacan animal woodcarvings. The sculpture will be installed at Hermon Dog Park later this year. He will be including mementos from the community in memory/honor of our Hermon Dog Park pets. Items must be ceramic, metal or anything that won't deteriorate in the elements - dog tags (or cat), ceramic animals, a water dish (which will be broken into pieces) or anything that has meaning for you. Items cannot be returned but you will be able to immortallize your pet. Find out more about "Hermon on the Ball"
Especially in the winter months, people ask why the dog park can't have lights so that dogs can romp when owners get home from work. Aside from the budgetary and logistical issues, we also have an agreement with our neighbors who would be affected by the light and noise. In order to get the park built in the first place, we agreed to honor our neighbors' request for daylight hours only. Those of you who need a place to take your dogs after dusk are encouraged to visit Silver Lake Dog Park which is open until 10pm. Thank you for your understanding.
Hermon Dog Park was named number 7 of the top 40 dog parks nationwide for 2010 by Dog Fancy Magazine! For more about America's Best [40] Dog Parks, read the PR Newswire press release here:
